Pauline Salmon

I started quilting in the 1980's, as a lonely quilter working entirely without guidance. At this time I was interested in traditional Patchwork & Quilting. Since joining the QG I have belonged to a few groups, firstly, The Bedfordshire Quilters with 11 other lovely ladies. I moved to Cambridgeshire in the 1990's, joined Lady Lodge Quilters and attended North Herts College (NHC) to complete my City & Guilds part I and II where I broadened my abilities into printmaking my own fabrics especially for modern wall hangings. Since finishing at NHC I was a member of The New Horizons Textile Group which was a great adventure until illness curtailed my travelling. During my time at NHC I fell in love with machine appliqué. I continue to make an eclectic mixture of traditional and modern pieces of work although I usually manage to sneak a modern twist into all my work, mostly working from my workroom at home but sometimes sharing skills with Community Groups in order to teach and share my love of textiles.
