Hello Everyone!
I joined the Guild at the 2021 Festival of Quilts. My quilting career began after I retired even though I had never thought of myself as a needlewoman.
The first project I tried was from an American booklet called 'I can't believe I'm quilting' which pretty much summed up my situation then: it was a nine-patch block. From there I went on to a charm pack lap quilt, a sampler quilt made at a local beginners' course, two full-size quilts, and a memory quilt, made for my daughter during the lockdown. The memory quilt was made from a pattern in another American publication mentioned in 'Today's Quilter'. It used baby clothes from my two grandchildren. When completed I sent a photo to the magazine and it appeared in the Show and Tell section. I was thrilled! It was a really enjoyable project and it made me think I would like to explore modern quilting next.
My current project is the 'Today's Quilter' mystery quilt.
My other interests are bookish and literary-historical. I also enjoy playing bridge to an almost average standard.
