Gillian Griffiths

I began patchwork and quilting around late 2001; in this time I have taken many workshops and learnt a great deal. I love piecing, and choosing fabric, my stash proves this but I am yet to master quilting....I am finding this quite difficult!

I live in a pretty village in Somerset, Nether Stowey. We have a thriving quilting group here which I started in 2013. We meet on Monday afternoons from 2 to 5 pm, except August. Everyone is welcome to visit us.

I have not yet found my 'favourite technique', I like to try all sorts.

I am on the committee of Region 5 as Treasurer. I was hoping that my local lnowledge of quilting in the Somerset area would expand, but sadly so far apart from a dedicated few I have found large pockets of the area unwilling to join together with other quilters. There are some excellent local exhibitions which I love visiting.

If anyone reads this in the area, plepleasr send information for Five Patch, the region 5 newsletter, it would be most welcome. Send to Judith at .

I am aware that there are several quilting groups in the area that are not listed in the newsletter. Your group does not have to be affliated to the Quilter's Guild to be referenced in our magazine. If you would like to contact me regarding Quantock Quilters or Region 5 please e mail me , , or ring me 01278 733709.
