Fabric identification and dating – an introductory session with Rachel Terry

Zoom Session

Saturday 27 February 2021

Two sessions will be available: 10.30am or 2.30 pm. The second session will be a repeat so please don’t book for both!

Please note that this is a repeat of the session from November for those on the waiting list and anyone else who missed it the first time. In this session you will be introduced to lots of resources for identifying and dating the fabrics which often appear in patchwork quilts from the 18th through to the 20th centuries. The groups will be small to allow for sharing ideas and questions. There will be a combination of PowerPoint slides and discussion. As before, this session is still free, although we do ask that you let us know if you can’t make your booking. To book please contact Rachel Terry, Research Panel Chair on her email (please note the underscore _ in the email address). Please state if you wish to book for the morning or afternoon session.

We also have exciting plans for a future Zoom research session with Heather Audin, Curator of the Quilters’ Guild Collection, and Isobel Dibden Wright, looking at items in Guild’s Collection and looking at research techniques. We will advertise this via our BQSG mailing once we have a firm date, so do keep an eye out for more details in due course.
