This event takes place on 14th July 2018 from 10:00am to 4:00pm and will take place at Manchester Conference Centre Sackville Street, Manchester M13BB. It is a Guild event being organised by Isabel Dibden Wright.
This study day is for those who have attended an introductory quilt research study day or have experience of research, and would like to take their research further.
We know that many who have attended one of our study days left feeling inspired, but have not been able to get going. The BQSG is eager to encourage more to begin, or develop their research, even in a small way!
This follow up day will look at possible topics for research, setting up small research groups, and how to take your research further. There will also be help with suggesting a possible mentor to support you. Guidance on publishing your research in either Culcita, The Quilter, or presenting your topic at a BQSG Seminar will also be covered. If appropriate, we will also cover how to write an abstract for a paper.
There will be examples of how others have carried out their quilt based research to help you with how you may tackle yours.
If you have any ongoing research, or a topic/quilt that you would like to research please bring details of this with you.
The study day will be led by Isabel Dibden Wright, previously Senior Lecturer in the School of Design at Manchester Metropolitan Unversity, and Bridget Long, Chair of BQSG Research Panel.
