BQSG Online Training Sessions

Session 1 Introduction to Fabric Identification and Dating

24 October 2020 1pm-3pm

2-hour session, delivered online via Zoom

Host: Rachel Terry

In this session we will look at examples of 18th, 19th and 20th century fabrics of the types used in patchwork and quilting. We will focus on clues to dating fabrics by looking at dyeing, printing and weaving techniques. The session will also point to museum and archive collections which are helpful for research in this area.

The session will be a combination of Power-point slides and actual physical examples which will be shared onscreen. The group is small so that participants can ask questions and comment. Full information on using Zoom will be sent to participants in advance of the session.

8 places are available. Open to all Guild Members
