My copy of the book "Wearable Prints 1760-1860" by Susan Greene has arrived - and what a book it is. It will provide reading for weeks to come. Weighing in at 2.5 kilos, this volume is the result of Greene's PhD thesis research on fabric manufacture. Lavishly illustrated, it is divided into three main portions: Overview, Colours and Mechanics. Plus, a sizeable Appendix with useful timelines and definitions, as well as some dye chemistry. A bit of an investment at £60, but a good addition to the fabric history library!
